Alice and James flew halfway across the world from the UK to celebrate their elopement in the beautiful Rocky Mountains at Lake Minnewanka in Banff.

I had a bright and early wake up call at 3 am to begin my drive from Calgary to meet Alice and James for their sunrise Banff elopement at Lake Minnewanka. It was a beautiful summer morning in early June. We started the morning with portraits of just the two of them before the sun began to rise, then moved into their intimate lakeside ceremony with just the couple, their officiant, myself and my assistant. They shared their vows and their love for each other as the sun rose over the Rocky Mountains behind them.

Once it was sealed with a kiss, we celebrated the newly married couple before exploring more of Lake Minnewanka for additional portraits. As a Banff elopement photographer, these quiet, early morning moments in the mountains are always so special to capture. I’m so grateful I got to photograph these two and be a part of their Banff elopement!
